Paine Field August 11

WE501 China Airlines B-18051 back from the Portland paint hangar. Photo by Royal S King.

  1. i wanna ask whether the plum blossom on the vertical stabilizer is painted or taped?

  2. Believe it was painted, because every single plum blossom (even after 2011 rebranding) looks kind of different. Find pictures of both the left and right sides of B-18051, and you'll realise that even on a plane, the flowers may look different.

  3. it is recently confirmed that some plum blossom painting on stabilizer of China Airlines's planes has been replaced by tape
So i wonder what kind of method they will use on new planes

  4. This AP's tail was hand painted in Portland.
